Red Silicone Conveyor Belt for Bag Making Machines: 380 °C Hot-Knife Sealing

On a zipper bag making machine, the conveyor belt under the sealing and cutting station works in one of the toughest spots on the line. A hot knife at around 380 °C comes down on the film again and again, and every bag has to stay exactly where it was placed until the seal and the cut are finished.

JAWLON’s red silicone conveyor belt for bag making machines is built for this job. It takes the heat of hot-knife sealing and cutting, holds the bags firmly in position so they do not drift, and lasts a long time thanks to a fiber fabric layer in the middle of the belt.

Where the belt works on a bag making machine

In zipper bag (ziplock bag) production, the film runs on the conveyor belt into the hot-knife station, where the bag edges are heat sealed and heat cut in one step. The belt carries the film under the knife, supports it while it is sealed and cut, and then delivers the finished bags. The photo at the top shows a red silicone conveyor belt on a bag making machine, with zipper bags lined up on the belt on their way to the sealing and cutting station.

Why bag makers choose a red silicone conveyor belt

1. Made for 380 °C hot-knife sealing and cutting

Silicone rubber keeps its flexibility and strength at temperatures where many ordinary rubber or PVC belts soften, harden or crack. Our red silicone belt runs under hot knives at about 380 °C for heat sealing and heat cutting, and the belt surface stays intact cycle after cycle.

2. Good grip: zipper bags do not drift

The silicone surface has a natural grip on the bag film. Bags stay where they are placed instead of sliding or drifting sideways, so every seal and every cut lands in the right position. Fewer skewed seals mean fewer rejected bags and less time spent re-adjusting the machine.

3. Fiber fabric reinforcement in the middle

A layer of fiber fabric is built into the middle of the belt. It gives the belt tensile strength and dimensional stability, so the belt does not stretch out of shape under tension and heat. It tracks straight and keeps the spacing between bags consistent.

4. Long service life

Heat resistance, a stable reinforced core and a durable silicone surface work together to give a long service life at the sealing station. A longer-lasting belt means fewer belt changes, less downtime and a lower running cost per bag.

Frequently asked questions

What temperature can the red silicone conveyor belt handle?

It is used under hot knives at about 380 °C for heat sealing and heat cutting zipper bags. If your process needs more headroom, our dark red silicone conveyor belt is rated up to 400 °C short-term.

Why do bags drift or skew on the conveyor belt?

Usually the belt surface has lost its grip, or the belt has stretched and no longer tracks straight. A silicone belt with good surface grip and a fabric-reinforced core keeps the bags in position.

Can you make the belt in my size?

Yes. All belts are made to order to the width, length or circumference and thickness of your bag making machine.
